Nuno Ferreira Pires is 42 years old. He holds a degree in Business Management and began his career at the Iberian division of Procter & Gamble (#32 Fortune 500). He worked at Compal (Portuguese market leader in the juices sector) where he created the global innovation Compal Essencial and he was head of innovation and strategic marketing at Central de Cervejas as business unit director, where he doubled the EBITDA of the company’s historic water brand, LUSO, in less than 3 years and helped increase the undisputed leadership of the Sagres brand in the highly competitive beer market in Portugal. He was elected best team leader in 2008.
Nuno Ferreira Pires worked at Millennium BCP while studying at university and at MTV Networks Europe in London, where he moved following two years at the Portuguese start-up Oni Way. In Heineken he served the shareholder Central de Cervejas and at PPG Industries he was part of the Board of Directors Iberia, leading the Marketing and Retail Sales for the Iberian Peninsula.
He is a Board Member at Pestana Hotel Group since 2013, and member of the Executive Committee since 2014, heading the Global Marketing & Sales area. In 2014 he was Managing Director of Pousadas de Portugal and in 2015 was granted the title of doctor honoris causa by APPM.
He is Non Executive Board Member at AMINT Consulting Company and Board of Directors of Compagnia delle Opere Portugal and is EPWN mentor since 2013.
Nuno Ferreira Pires was elected 1 of the 100 most innovative Portuguese in 2016 by “Circulo da Inovação” – Portuguese Presidency, Jason Associates, SIC, Expresso and NOS.
